How to delete your data

This page tells you exactly how to get your data deleted from Onside Consulting, what we hold, and how long it takes. It applies whether you are a coaching business we work with or a parent who filled in one of our clients' enquiry forms. You do not need an account, a login, or a reason.

Who this page is for

If you are a coaching business we run ads for. We hold your business details, your ad results, and the enquiries your ads produced.

If you are a parent who filled in an enquiry form. A soccer coaching business ran an ad, you filled in the form, and your name, email and phone number were passed to that business so they could contact you about a session. We handle that form on their behalf.

Either way, the instructions below get your data deleted.

What we actually hold

Onside Consulting operates a Meta app called Onside AI (app ID 1420405316796685). It is used only by us, on our own computers. Nobody logs into it. It does these things and nothing else.

Advertising data belonging to a coaching business we work with. Their Meta ad account identifier, their Facebook Page identifier, their advertising pixel identifier, the ads we built for them, and the performance figures for those ads (money spent, times shown, clicks, enquiries).

Enquiry form entries. When someone fills in a Meta enquiry form on one of our clients' ads, we download that entry so it reaches the coach who can call them back. That entry normally contains a name, an email address, a phone number, and answers to the coach's own questions, such as a child's age.

Contact details for the coaches themselves, so we can send them their weekly results.

We do not hold Facebook or Instagram passwords. We do not read anyone's private messages. We do not sell any of this to anybody, ever.

How to ask us to delete it

Email magnus@onside.consulting with the subject line "Delete my data". Tell us the email address or phone number you used, and if you are a parent, the name of the coaching business whose ad you replied to. That is all we need. You do not have to explain why.

We will confirm we have received your request within 2 business days, and complete the deletion within 30 days. We will email you when it is done.

If we cannot find you from what you sent us, we will write back and ask, rather than guess.

If you are a coaching business, you can also cut us off yourself

You gave us access to your advertising assets through Meta Business Manager. You can remove that access at any time, without asking us first, and it takes effect immediately.

Open business.facebook.com/settings, click Partners in the left menu, find Onside Consulting in the list, and click Remove. From that moment our app can no longer read or change anything in your account.

Removing our access stops any new data reaching us. It does not delete what we already hold, so email us as well if you want that gone too.

What happens when we delete

We remove your records from our own systems, including our customer records, our results files, and our backups on their next cycle.

Two things are worth being straight about.

Meta keeps its own copy. The advertising history sits inside Meta's own systems as well as ours, and we cannot delete that for you. To remove data Meta holds about you, use Meta's own tools at accountscenter.facebook.com.

Your coach may have their own copy. If you filled in an enquiry form, the coaching business received your details directly and holds them in their own system. Ask them as well, or tell us and we will pass the request on.

We may keep a minimal record of the deletion request itself, and anything the law requires us to keep, such as an invoice. Nothing else.

Your rights

If you are in the United Kingdom or the European Union, you have the right to have your personal data erased under Article 17 of the UK GDPR and the EU GDPR. If you are in Australia, you have rights over your personal information under the Privacy Act 1988. This page is how you use them with us. There is no charge.

If you are not happy with how we handled your request, tell us first at magnus@onside.consulting and we will try to put it right. You can also complain to your data protection authority: the Information Commissioner's Office in the UK, or the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner in Australia.
